Rod and Lynn Dewey have been co-owners of Dewey Service Corporation since they began their pest and wildlife business in their home on August 1, 1991. (At this time, the company was known as DSC Integrated Pest Management, but many of the customers just referred to it as Dewey Pest.) With a degree in Biology & Arboriculture, and a Pest License he then consulted with Lynn and Rod left the Retail Business to become his own “boss”. Lynn was a stay at home mom or as she always said, “Domestic Engineer” with an environmental and recreation education background. In the beginning years, Rod would work in the field servicing the customers and complete the office work at night. Lynn would answer the phones and manage the accounting. Sometimes she would even work in the field and assist Rod by footing and carrying ladders or working as his helper when he treated for termites or installed bird netting and spikes. Almost 21 years have passed, and Rod and Lynn have worked together to develop and grow their small business into a successful career that they can be proud of. Rod and Lynn have been married for over 33 years and their two girls have grown up, moved away, and started their own families. Now, at Dewey Pest and Wildlife, their business has grown to become a team working to service new clients as well as the “long term” clients who have steadfastly trusted and relied on their expertise in the pest management industry. |
